Botanically accurate, natural depiction of a small bouquet of various summer flowers tied together with a blue bow, with a blue, a dragonfly and a red beetle sitting on the fragrant blossoms and leaves. Agricola, who traveled to England, the Netherlands and France and lived for a time in Naples and Venice, devoted himself to various subjects. In addition to landscapes influenced by Claude Lorrain and Nicolas Poussin, he mainly created depictions of birds and floral still lifes after thorough studies of nature, mostly in small format and in gouache paintings. gouache/paper.
