12 volumes: comprising 7 bound volumes (9 x 5 4/8 inches) and 5 in original parts (9 4/8 x 6 4/8 inches). 18 folding and 712 exquisite full-page engraved or lithographed plates with original hand-colour in full by MM Cels, Dalbret, Doverge, Duval, Filliette, Jacques, Jacquin Aine, Jacquin Jeune, Lemon, E. Martin, Neumann, Louis Noisette, Pepin, Pokorny, and Utinet (one folding plate partially separated at fold, one other plate with marginal tear with loss). The first seven volumes uniformly bound in contemporary calf, marbled paper boards, gilt, the smooth spines gilt-ruled in six compartments, red morocco lettering-pieces in two (extremities a bit scuffed); the last five in original green printed paper wrappers, uncut (some extremities a little frayed).

The complete series of "Annales de Flore de Pomone", and EXTREMELY RARE as such. A beautiful and early French horticultural periodical, a rival to Curtis's Botanical Magazine in the quality of its plates. Although the plates are not signed, several illustrious French botanical illustrators and engravers were involved in this journal, including Edouard Maubert (1806-1879).
