Guyanese Flora (1790-1814) , Medusa (Jellyfish)
Guyanese Flora (1790-1814)
Watercolor on paper
Paper size: 8 ¼ x 5 ½ in
The subject of this study, the Medusa, or jellyfish, is presented in four various states. The title Medusa informs us that we are observing jellyfish in the adult stage of the life cycle. Careful attention has been paid to detail, as we can clearly see elements such as tentacles, the outer and the inner layer. The bright blue color adds an artful presence to the piece.
